Two symphonies, two composers, one special evening out. Tchaikovsky’s joyful symphony is inspired by Ukrainian folks songs, bringing to life the idyllic scenery of one of the composer’s favorite refuges. Described by the composer as “heroic,” Borodin’s second symphony is a masterclass in musical storytelling.
