JOIN THE ALPHARETTA SYMPHONY

ABOUT AUDITIONS

Are you an instrumentalist looking for a place to do what you love? Join the Alpharetta Symphony! Our orchestra is comprised of amateurs and local professional musicians who are passionate about music. Some positions are paid, while others are volunteer. If you are interested in joining, please see the information below regarding requesting a private audition.

Auditions for the Alpharetta Symphony are generally held each August prior to the concert season, which runs from September through May; however, an audition can be scheduled throughout the season. Read more about rehearsals, becoming a member, and dues below.

The concert season includes approximately 6 concert events with music ranging from challenging orchestral works of great composers to holiday classics and popular music. Opportunities to play in smaller chamber ensembles are also available.

In order to audition for the Alpharetta Symphony, you must be 18 years of age of older. High school students or younger are encouraged to audition for the Alpharetta Symphony Youth Orchestra.

AUDITION INFORMATION

For the 2023-24 Season, we are seeking talented musicians for regular and sublist musicians. Currently we are looking to fill the position of Associate Concertmaster (paid) and various string players.

To schedule an audition or inquire about the sublist, please fill out the form below or email music@alpharettasymphony.org.

NOTE: It’s preferable that wind instrumentalists have access to the common auxiliary instruments of their family type (ie. piccolo, bass clarinet, contrabassoon, English horn, A or E-flat clarinet, etc.). All percussionists must have reasonable access to smaller auxiliary instruments (ie. snare, woodblock, cymbals, castanets, triangle, toms, etc.)

Interested in learning more? Please fill out this form and a member of our team will get back to you.
