Extra, extra, read all about it! This concert begins with an orchestral newsreel, showcasing some common themes in local news - sports, fashion, the arts, and a parade. Next, we bring to the stage a true child prodigy and Alpharetta Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition winner, cellist Philip Jeong. 13-year old Jeong will perform the achingly beautiful Saint-Saëns Cello Concerto No. 1. The concert ends with a sonic trip to ancient Rome, from a grand villa basking in the Mediterranean sun, to the triumphant return of the Roman army along the famed Appian Way.
