Solos of Spring (1)

In November of 2017 the AlphaSO hosted their inaugural Youth Concerto Competition. This event was a huge success with over 16 competitors participating from all around the greater metro Atlanta area. Four winners were selected to play in the March 2018 "Solos of Spring" concert, and featured accomplished piano, flute, and oboe soloists. Performances received standing ovations.

The Youth Competition was held again in November of 2018. Musicians ages 18 or under competed for the opportunity to appear as a guest soloist with the AlphaSO at the 2019 "Solos of Spring" concert. Four winners were selected. Their bios are available by clicking here.

The winners will perform solos featuring violin, harp, and cello with the AlphaSO. Music selections include Mendelssohn's "Violin Concerto in E Minor," Debussy's "Danses for Strings and Harp," Brahm's "Violin concerto in D Major," and Dvorak's Cello Concerto in B Minor." The AlphaSO will also perform Jean Sibelius' Karelia Overture, Op. 10 and the Karelia Suite, Op. 11. Don't miss this exciting event featuring talented local musicians!
