All other instrumentalists are encouraged to inquire about open positions or being added to the sublist.
General Information
Are you an instrumentalist looking for a place to do what you love? Join the Alpharetta Symphony Orchestra! Our orchestra is comprised of amateurs and local professional musicians who are passionate about music. Auditions are generally held in August each year for open positions. Some positions are paid, while others are volunteer. If you are interested in joining, please see information below regarding requesting a private audition.
Auditions for the Alpharetta Symphony Orchestra are generally held each August prior to the concert season, which runs from September through May. Read more about rehearsals, becoming a member, and dues below.
The concert season includes approximately 5 concert events with music ranging from challenging orchestral works of great composers to holiday classics and some pop music. Opportunities to play in smaller chamber ensembles also exist.
In order to audition for the Alpharetta Symphony Orchestra you must be 18+. High school students or younger are encouraged to audition for the Alpharetta Youth Symphony Orchestra.
About the 2022-2023 Season
The Alpharetta Symphony Orchestra's 2022-23 Season will be a trip around the world. Starting in the United States, we celebrate the 90th birthday of film music legend John Williams with some of his greatest hits. Then, we venture into the Pines of Rome in our concert Wires and Pines. Taking a trip to the Iberian peninsula, our Symphonic Tapas concert explores the syncopated, danceable rhythms and flavor of Spanish-inspired music. Our Organic Fanfare concert puts the organ in the spotlight with Saint-Saëns' Organ Symphony. Finally, the AlphaSO places you next to the Louvre with the dusky beauty of French classics, combined with patriotic favorites in honor of Memorial Day.
